Krabi Town is one of the most important harbours of the region. Besides long-tail boats, that run regular services to small islands across the Krabi River and to Railay and Phra Nang Beach, fast ferries are serving Phi Phi Island, Jum Island and Lanta Island. They all depart from the new passenger terminal at Khlong Chilat that is located approx 3 kms west of the town centre and about 8 kms from the bus terminal. Some services might stop during the monsoon season and will be substituted by combined bus and long-tail boat transportation from small harbours along the coast.

Carferry to Lanta Island  
From May to October the boats from Krabi Town and Phi Phi Island to Lanta Island do not operate due to strong winds and high waves in the monsoon season. During this time, public minibusses take over the transportation between Krabi and Lanta Island. Outside their schedules, a private transfer is the only choice to go to Lanta Island. The 2 car ferries, that connect the island to the mainland are operating from 06:00 to 22:00. Transfer time from Phuket is about 5 hours, transfer time from Krabi about 2 hours.

There are no scheduled boats available for the trip to Bubu Island from either Ban Bo Muang or Lanta Pier. However, if you have booked a room at Bubu Island Resort, they will arrange a boat for pick up from either place.
   Local Boat between Ngai and Muuk Island
 

 

LANTA ISLAND - NGAI/MUUK/KRADAN ISLAND - LANTA ISLAND
 
Local Boat between Ngai and Muuk Island  
Petphilin Boat operates a daily excursion to Koh Ngai, Koh Muuk and Koh Kradan Island from November to April. It is possible to join this trip on a one way basis. The boat leaves from Saladan Pier at 08:30 and arrives to Koh Ngai at 10:00. The schedule to Koh Kradan depends on the tide, as a visit to the Emerald Cave on Koh Mook is included. The boat does not stop on Muuk Island. Reservations can be made through us, if you like to go to Koh Mook, we recommend to leave the boat on Koh Ngai and take a long-tail boat from there.
